Yosemite-class was the original intended starship class designation of the USS Trieste, as it was listed in an okudagram in TNG: "Brothers", before a later version of the graphic listed the Trieste as an Merced-class starship. While the Trieste or any other ship of the Yosemite- or Merced-class has never made an on screen appearance, Star Trek Encyclopedia (3rd ed., pp. 299, 522) confirms that Merced-class was the final and correct conjectural class designation of the Trieste.
