The World Cup is an international football competition between Earth nations, held once every four years. In 2152, England qualified for the World Cup, a fact that Jonathan Archer used to try to start a conversation with his armoury officer Malcolm Reed.

2152 is not, based on the current cycle, a World Cup year, but it is possible that the third World War altered this pattern as the previous World Wars had affected Football competitions in the past. Additionally, England may have qualified early in the qualifying rounds, gaining enough points from their early matches.
