Wilson was a male Human Starfleet crewman during the mid-23rd century. He served in the operations division as a transporter technician aboard the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk during the mid-2260s.

In 2266, Wilson was on duty with Scotty when Geological Technician Fisher beamed up from the surface of Alfa 177, at which point a magnetic ore in which Fisher was covered caused a transporter malfunction. Before beaming Captain Kirk up from the surface, Scotty ordered Wilson to retrieve a synchronic meter, with which to assess the damage to the transporter.

Unknown to anyone at the time, the malfunction created a duplicate of Captain Kirk, possessed of all of his dark tendencies and animal instincts. This led Kirk to make an announcement as to the existence of an impostor aboard ship, and institute a ship-wide search. Wilson was fooled by this double, however, who attacked Wilson and disarmed him, taking Wilson's hand phaser. (TOS: "The Enemy Within")

Later the same year, Wilson was on repair duty along with a fellow crewman in a Jefferies tube, when Charles Evans visited the Enterprise. (TOS: "Charlie X")

Background information[]

Wilson was portrayed by Garland Thompson.

For the filming of his scenes as Wilson in "The Enemy Within", Thompson was assigned to work for seven days, starting on 13 June 1966.

In the final draft script of "Charlie X", Wilson was consistently referred to as "Crewman II". The script also made it clear that he was intended to be one of several high-spirited, unseen crewmen whose shadows are seen cast on a wall as an angry Charles Evans passes.

The duty jumpsuit Wilson wore had no indication of rank and was worn by both non-commissioned and commissioned officers; therefore, his rank cannot be determined from his uniform.
