- Best known as Bill Clinton, he served as the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 until 2001. In the Star Trek universe, the era of his first term was when the Eugenics Wars were supposed to have occurred.
- The character W. Clinton was likely an in-joke reference to William J. Clinton.
