Background information Edit
Both Sisko's and Admiral Ross' wedding dialogue were written to pay homage to Kirk's dialogue in "Balance of Terror".
According to a dialogue in the deleted scene 2 of the episode "Defiant", a Tholian ambassador aboard Deep Space 9 reported that someone broke into his quarters during the night and stole three cases of latinum which was meant to be the dowry for his wedding.
