A waiter or server was a person employed in a bar or restaurant who took and served food and drink orders. A female in this occupation was generally known as a waitress.

In 2268, Deep Space Station K-7 employed at least two waitresses, one a blonde, the other a brunette. (TOS: "The Trouble with Tribbles"; DS9: "Trials and Tribble-ations")

Edouard served as waiter at the Café des Artistes in Paris on Earth in 2342. (TNG: "We'll Always Have Paris")

Q masqueraded as a Bajoran waiter briefly on Deep Space 9 when he tried to prevent Doctor Bashir from dating Vash. When Q told Bashir to stay away from Vash, Bashir told him "My god, you're an impertinent waiter." (DS9: "Q-Less")

One of the Wadi served as waiter while appearing in a shap of the game Chula, which was dressed like a cocktail party. (DS9: "Move Along Home")

Ben was a waiter who served in Ten Forward in 2370. He was a friend to Taurik, Sito Jaxa, Sam Lavelle, and Alyssa Ogawa. (TNG: "Lower Decks")

When the staff of Quark's went on strike in 2372, Quark replaced them with holographic waiters. (DS9: "Bar Association")

Vic's Las Vegas Lounge had a number of waiters. In 2375, one was told by Tony Cicci to return a cheesesteak and to get him a new one "and I don't care if you gotta fly to Philadelphia to get me one." Cicci also hired Ezri Dax as a cocktail waitress. (DS9: "Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang")
