The Vidiian Sodality was the political body of the Vidiian species in the Delta Quadrant. Vidiian civilization had been devastated by a disease known as the phage for some two thousand years, until a cure was provided by the Think Tank in 2375. (VOY: "Phage", "Faces", "Think Tank")

A "sodality" is an association of scholars or scientists. The use of this term for the ruling body of the Vidiians is probably connected with the extreme importance of medical science in their culture.
