The Vancouver Film Studios is a film production facility established in 1999 and located in Vancouver, BC, Canada. It is the largest film production facility outside of Los Angeles in North America.

The Vancouver Film Studios housed the sets for the 2016 Star Trek film Star Trek Beyond, helmed by Justin Lin. Principal photography started on 15 April 2015. It is the first Star Trek project filmed largely outside of Los Angeles. [1]

Other projects which were filmed at VFS include the television series Battlestar Galactica (2004-2009), Eureka (2006-2012, starring Salli Richardson-Whitfield), Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci's Fringe (2008-2013), Arrow (2012-2015), and Bates Motel (2013-2015), Bryan Singer's sequel X2 (2003, starring Patrick Stewart and Famke Janssen), the comedy Night at the Museum (2006), the science fiction remake The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008), the drama If I Stay (2014), the music drama Step Up All In (2014), and the drama Fifty Shades of Grey (2015).
