Changes: Vaadwaur homeworld

The Vaadwaur homeworld was the homeworld of the Vaadwaur species. The exact name of the planet is unknown. The planet was once the center of a large Vaadwaur empire, but it became uninhabitable sometime in the 16th century, when a massive bombardment with plasma weapons by an alliance of Vaadwaur enemies caused a nuclear winter. As of the late-24th century, the planet had still not yet recovered, with large amounts of radiogenic particles in the air.

Though it seemed the Vaadwaur species virtually became extinct in this event, a battalion of 600 Vaadwaur in stasis survived in a bunker under one of the large metropolises, and was discovered by the crew of the USS Voyager while it hid there in 2376. (VOY: "Dragon's Teeth")

The 16th century date is derived from it being 900 years before Voyager arrived, in 2376. though the crew of Voyager describes the state of the planet as in nuclear winter the fact that the planet is still uninhabitable after 900 years suggests a permanent alteration of the planets climate.
