Summary
Voyager's seventh and final year in the Delta Quadrant begins with the destruction of Unimatrix Zero, allowing thousands of Borg drones to retain their individuality. Seven of Nine attempts to begin socializing more with the crew, and Lieutenants Paris and Torres wed. A transmission from the Alpha Quadrant sends the former Maquis on a rampage, the Doctor is abducted to a world where medical needs are determined by social status, and a holographic Barclay nearly kills the crew to obtain Seven of Nine's nanoprobes.
The Doctor betrays Voyager to join misguided holograms on a mission of relocation, and Voyager gets trapped in a void where the crew must make Federation-style alliances to escape. The ship later encounters a space-time anomaly that fractures the space-time continuum aboard the ship, leaving Commander Chakotay to alter time so the fractures are sealed. B'Elanna Torres discovers that she is pregnant, and she and Lieutenant Paris must discuss her saddening past to protect her child's future.
Voyager later encounters a group of Klingons who believe Torres' unborn child is their savior, and almost the entire crew is given altered memories to help solve a work shortage problem.
Seven of Nine continues to develop her social skills, and Q gives Voyager a little visit from his son, who needs to be straightened out before he is turned into an Aprellian amoeba. The Doctor publishes his first holonovel, which unfortunately doesn't portray the crew in a flattering light and is then transmitted to the Alpha Quadrant where it is illegally played by thousands of people. The Doctor, however, succeeds in getting his holonovel "off the streets," with the help of his crew, and strikes the first blow in the movement for holographic rights.
Voyager receives its first official Starfleet mission in seven years-to find and retrieve the UESPA probe Friendship One, lost in the Delta Quadrant 120 years previously. After the success of this mission, Voyager encounters a planet where a massive force field has protected an innocent and underdevleoped Ventu from being interfered with by the more technologically advanced Ledosians. However, that seperation is threatened when Commander Chakotay and Seven of Nine are lost inside the force field.
Voyager next encounters a group of Talaxians under attack in an asteroid field by a mining corporation. Neelix helps them erect a shield around their asteroid home and then elects to stay with them. Voyager almost loses its warp core to the Hierarchy when they capture Captain Janeway and the Doctor and force the Doctor to assume the identities of several key crewmembers to steal the warp core.
After seven long and toilsome years, with the help from a future Kathryn Janeway and 25th century technology, the USS Voyager collapses a Borg transwarp hub and uses a failing transwarp conduit to hurtle themselves back to the Alpha Quadrant.
