Udar aboard the Enterprise
Udar (more commonly known as Smike, after the character in the Charles Dickens novel Nicholas Nickleby) was an Augment that Arik Soong raised. Although he was an Augment, he had a genetic abnormality that gave him none of his brothers' or sisters' special abilities, aside from heightened hearing. His biological father was a geophysicist named Miklos Karlovassi; his mother, Irina, was an athlete who won a Silver Medal in the Olympic Decathlon.
In 2154, Udar was discovered in hiding by Jonathan Archer and the crew of the Enterprise NX-01 in the old settlement where Soong had raised the Augments. Udar had been left behind by the other Augments because of his perceived shortcomings. Archer persuaded Udar to help him foil Soong's plot, and he was killed by Malik for siding against him.
