USS Raman (NCC-29487) was an Oberth-class Federation starship in operation in the 24th century.
In 2370 the Raman was lost with all hands in the atmosphere of a planet. Its crew of seven were killed by subspace creatures living in the lower atmosphere of the planet.
The Enterprise-D recieved their distress call, but did not get there in time to save them. (TNG: "Interface")
- Named after Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, an Indian scientist of the 20th century.
