The USS Excelsior (NCC-21445) was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet

In 2365, Captain Muriel Epstein was the commanding officer of the ship. In that year, the ship was on a deep space exploration mission of Sector 034. The ship was named on the Starship Deploy Status chart in the Starbase 173 courtroom. (TNG: "The Measure Of A Man", okudagram)

In 2370, after the USS Hera was reported missing, the Excelsior and the USS Noble retraced the Hera's course for six days. The search failed at finding any evidence of the lost starship. (TNG: "Interface")
