Real World article
(written from a Production point of view)

Two Steps From Hell is a group consisting of two composers, Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix, who specialize in music for motion picture advertising. They wrote the music which was used in both theatrical trailers for 2009's Star Trek. Their music for the first theatrical trailer, released on 14 November 2008, was a re-orchestration of Brian Tyler's score from the 2003 Sci-Fi Channel mini-series Children of Dune entitled "Down with the Enterprise". The second trailer, released on 7 March 2009, used the track entitled "Freedom Fighters" from their album, Legend.

Two Steps From Hell was formed on 14 February 2006. In addition to Star Trek, their music has been used in trailers and television spots for such films as Blood Diamond, No Country for Old Men, National Treasure: Book of Shadows, I Am Legend, The Da Vinci Code, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, X-Men: The Last Stand, Spider-Man 3, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, WALL•E, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Dark Knight, Twilight, and Watchmen. It has also been used by SpaceX in videos demonstrating spacecraft testing.
