Tri-nikolas powder was a non-oxidizing chemical explosive used in Class N(2) planetary environments for engineering and construction applications. It explosive was used in remote spectroscopy vaporization devices for scientific and industrial applications. The explosive was unstable in oxygen atmospheres and had to be handled in accordance with SFRA 2884.3 safety regulations. In 2367, this explosive was stored on aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D.
