A tree is a large perennial woody plant found on many planets in all four quadrants of the Milky Way Galaxy. An aggregation of trees is called a forest.

In front of the Kreetassan Hall of Diplomacy stood a row of Alvera trees that, by 2152, were over 300 years old, and which were considered cultural treasures by the Kreetassans. The Kreetssans were seriously offended when Captain Archer's dog Porthos urinated on one of the sacred trees. (ENT: "A Night in Sickbay")

Jadzia Dax and Deral climbed a tree on Meridian, something Dax had never done in eight lifetimes, as she suffered from vertigo. The tree was Deral's favorite spot on the planet. (DS9: "Meridian")
