A transwarp aperture is an opening to the Transwarp Hub. The aperature is the center point of a wormhole, it's most volnurable spot. The transwarp conduit leading to the Alpha Quadrant was used by the USS Voyager. Upon entering the conduit, the ship launched a series of transphasic torpedoes causing the aperature to send a feedback through the conduit, and causing the transwarp Hub to collapse, in process the Borg Unicomplex was destroyed.
