Borg Prisoner M-5-10 in transit

A display graphic speaking of a Borg prisoner in transit

A transit was the transportation of people or goods from one place to another, especially on a public transportation system.

There was often a certain amount of money expected to be paid when using such systems, unless a transit subsidy was paid, which effectively lowered the cost for the person in transit. (DS9: "Crossfire")

In 2024, transit passes could be used for people who intended to use a transit. They were also considered suitable forms of identification. (DS9: "Past Tense, Part I")

In San Francisco of the alternate reality, the Bay Area Rapid Transit was a mass transit used in the year 2259. (Star Trek Into Darkness)

In 2369, Zayra operated the Transit Aid Center on Deep Space 9. (DS9: "A Man Alone")

In 2370, Quark claimed that overselling seats on evacuation ships was an accepted Ferengi transit practice. (DS9: "The Siege")

In the year 2370, transit reports proved that Bareil Antos was at the Dakeen Monastery on a personal retreat during the week leading up to the Kendra Valley Massacre, in which he had no contact with anyone outside the monastery. This proved he was not a collaborator. (DS9: "The Collaborator")

In 2401 in the alternate timeline created in Los Angeles in 2024; when it was Eradication Day, the Borg Queen was sent on a transit system toward the site where she was to intended to be executed. (PIC: "Penance")
