Tranome Sar was the site of a battle between the Klingons and the Romulans in the early 24th century. The father of the tactics officer aboard the IKS Pagh, died in battle at Tranome Sar. (TNG: "A Matter Of Honor")

The episode was vague about whether Tranome Sar was a planet, star, city, or something else. The Star Trek: Star Charts depict Tranome Sar as a star located in the Beta Quadrant. Classified as a Class K star, it had a magnitude of +7, which was 1/10 as bright as Sol. (p. 56).
