Trakor was a Bajoran spiritual writer and prophet who lived on Bajor during the 7th century BC.

During his life, Trakor issued many prophecies as a result of several encounters with the Orb of Prophecy and Change. At least two of these prophecies, the Third and the Fourth, concerned the Emissary of the Prophets and decisions or trials he would face. Trakor accurately predicted events that would later come to pass. These events included the construction of the Qui'al Dam that brought the river to Janir in 2371 and events leading to the destruction of the Celestial Temple, by the Sword of Stars and the three vipers, thought to refer to three fragments of a comet heading for the Bajoran Wormhole later that same year. However, the wormhole's destruction was averted when a shuttlepod from the USS Defiant used a subspace field to shield the fragments, thereby allowing them to pass through the anomaly without damaging it.
