Tom Gianelli is an actor and stunt performer who appeared in several episodes of Star Trek: Voyager where he portrayed an operations division ensign. In addition, he worked as stand-in for Ethan Phillips on the fifth season episode "The Disease" in 1998. His first Star Trek role was the part of a Vori commando in the fourth season episode "Nemesis" for which he filmed his scenes on Wednesday 18 June 1997, Friday 20 June 1997, and Thursday 26 June 1997 on Paramount Stage 16.

Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, he is the stepson of director of photography William L. Asman and the nephew of sound editors Bub Asman and John Asman. His family moved to California, USA when he was nine years old to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. During high school, Gianelli started to train as stand-up comedian at the Comedy Store and the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. He also worked as DJ at the local radio station KNJO, played professional football, and studied Film and Communications at the UCLA and CSUN.

Following graduation, Gianelli worked as private security contractor and in 2003, he founded his vegan food and supplements company Ameri-Vegan, Inc. He has also worked as professional free-climber. [1]

As an actor and stunt performer, he worked on projects such as the television series Arli$$, MTV Beach House, MADtv, and Baywatch. He worked as stunt double for Joey Lawrence on the television drama Horse Sense (1999, with Freda Foh Shen, Tom Virtue, Holmes Osborne, and stunts by Mark Muñoz and Ben Scott), for Ben Stiller on the mystery comedy Mystery Men (1999, with stunts by Christine Anne Baur, Joey Box, Sandra Lee Gimpel, Leslie Hoffman, Gene LeBell, Joyce McNeal, and Diana Lee Inosanto), and appeared as a Minbari in Babylon 5. Film work includes the war drama We Were Soldiers (2002).
