Todd C. Ramsay was the film editor on Star Trek: The Motion Picture. This was the first film he worked on as lead editor.

Ramsay previously worked as assistant or associate film editor on MGM's That's Entertainment! (1974), Paramount Pictures' Lipstick (1976, starring Robin Gammell, Chris Sarandon, Meg Wyllie, and Bill Zuckert), and The Car (1977, featuring Ronny Cox, Roy Jenson, Don Keefer, John Rubinstein, and music by Leonard Rosenman). After Star Trek, he edited the John Carpenter films Escape from New York (1981, starring Adrienne Barbeau), The Thing (featuring David Clennon, Joel Polis, and set decoration by John M. Dwyer), and Black Moon Rising (1986, featuring Dan Shor).

Later films edited by Ramsay include Malone (1987, featuring Philip Anglim and Tracey Walter), The Exorcist III (1990, starring Brad Dourif), Highway to Hell (1992, working with Star Trek: The Motion Picture assistant editor Randy D. Thornton), Gang Related (1997, featuring Brad Greenquist, Tommy "Tiny" Lister, Jr., and Jimmie F. Skaggs), and The Minus Man (1999, featuring Meg Foster and John Carroll Lynch). More recent credits include the independent films Easy Six (2003, starring John Savage and Ruth Williamson) and Murder-Set-Pieces (2004, starring Tony Todd) and the 2005 horror film Devour, starring William Sadler.
