Background information
- The novel was first announced in Star Trek Magazine issue 154, under the title In Shariel's Jaws, and was given a release month of November 2011. This was initially brought forward to 27 September 2011 as a result of delays to the New Frontier novel, Blind Man's Bluff. The new title appeared on the Simon & Schuster website in February 2011.
