Tim Watters was a 22-year-old member of the elite cadet group Red Squad that was onboard the USS Valiant as part of a training exercise just prior to the outbreak of the Dominion War in 2374. After his commanding officer was fatally wounded, he was given a field commission as captain and command of the ship, choosing to continue the it's mission. Cadet/Captain Watters died in the destruction of the Valiant.
