His work on the science fiction series Earth 2 earned him an Emmy Award in the category Outstanding Individual Achievement - Special Visual Effects in 1995 which he shared with Star Trek: Enterprise special effects technician Kevin Pike. In 2014, he received a Visual Effects Society Award nomination in the category Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project for Mystic Manor.
Early in his career, Landry worked as cel painter on the short comedy Gravity (1976) before he worked as animator on the music documentary series Soul Train in the 1980s. He then worked as visual effects artist on projects such as the science fiction thriller Freejack (1992, along with Don Lee) and the science fiction comedy Coneheads (1993, with Mark Stetson, Adam Howard, Liz Radley, and Erik Nash).
As visual/gigital effects supervisor, Landry contributed to the creation of television series such as The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. (1993), Earth 2 (1994-1995, starring Clancy Brown, John Gegenhuber, and Terry O'Quinn), JAG (1995-1996), Invasion (2005-2006), and Prison Break (2005) as well as to the Alien Nation television movies Millennium (1996), The Enemy Within (1996), and The Udara Legacy (1997).
Film work includes the comic adaptation The Crow (1994), the comedy Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde (1995), the television movie Moses (1995), Disney's comedy Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves (1997, working with R. Christopher Biggs), the comedies George of the Jungle (1997) and My Favorite Martian (1999, starring Christopher Lloyd), the comic adaptation Inspector Gadget (1999), the thriller The Sixth Sense (1999), the action comedy Shanghai Noon (2000), the family adventure Snow Dogs (2002, with Nichelle Nichols), the action comedy Bulletproof Monk (2003), the fantasy adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), the thriller Out of Time (2003), the fantasy film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004), and the family movie Charlotte's Web (2006).
