Crewman T'Lor, a male Tiburonian (2373)

Dr. Sevrin, a male Tiburonian (2269)

Dr. Zora, a female Tiburonian

The Tiburonians are a humanoid species, native to the planet Tiburon. The males of the species were bald and had unusually shaped ears. (ENT: "Affliction", TOS: "The Way to Eden") Female Tiburonians had either caucasoid or greenish skin, long hair and enlarged eyebrows. (TOS: "The Savage Curtain") Some males did not have eyebrows and had a small ridgeline across their forehead. (DS9: "The Ship")

In 2149, Tiburon hosted an Interspecies Medical Exchange conference. While Denobulans and Mazarites were present, no Klingon representatives were invited (although one Klingon disguised as a member of the Mazarite delegation). (ENT: "Affliction")

Tiburonian society included tribal structures. At some point in Tiburonian history, Dr. Zora conducted gruesome experiments on the body chemistry of several tribes of Tiburonians. Her work and methods were condemned by later generations, and in the 23rd century, she was seen as one of the most evil members of the Tiburonian species. (TOS: "The Savage Curtain")

In 2269, Dr. Sevrin, a brilliant Tiburonian research engineer, led an ill-fated sect in its obsessive quest for the mythical Eden. (TOS: "The Way to Eden")

By the late 24th century, at least one Tiburonian, T'Lor, was serving in Starfleet . (DS9: "The Ship")

Background information Edit

The species was named in the script of "The Ship". [1]

It should be noted that it was not explicitly specified that Zora, seen in TOS: "The Savage Curtain" was in fact from Tiburon, merely that she performed experiments upon the natives.

The Decipher RPG book Starfleet Operations Manual used the name "Tiburonese".
