Texas (TX) was a region located on the Gulf coast of the North American continent of Earth, and a state in the United States of America bordering Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Its cities included cities of Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock, and Houston. The last city was important to manned spaceflight in the 20th and 21st centuries. (TNG-R: "The Neutral Zone"; DS9: "Little Green Men"; ENT: "Storm Front", "Storm Front, Part II") Its fauna included the bluebonnet, and its food Texan barbecue. (VOY: "Unity")

The Battle of the Alamo took place at the Alamo mission in San Antonio, Texas in 1836. The Alamo was still around in 2375, when Miles O'Brien and Julian Bashir planned to visit it when Bashir visited O'Brien on Earth.(DS9: "Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang", "What You Leave Behind")

In an alternate timeline in which Nazi Germany had invaded the United States, as of 1944 Texas was controlled by American forces. (ENT: "Storm Front", "Storm Front, Part II")

In 1963, U.S. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated while visting Dallas, Texas. Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, a Texas native, was sworn in while still in the state soon after. (TOS-R: "The Cage")

In the year 2000, a company based in Texas funded the project to build the Millennium Gate, buying properties in Portage Creek, Indiana for twenty percent over market value around the proposed construction site. (VOY: "11:59")

Riley Frazier and her grandfather were 24th century Texans, descended from Texas homesteaders. (VOY: "Unity")

Texas was the real-life birthplace of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry as well as actors Brent Spiner and Michael Dorn.

Texas was named on a map of the United States (Die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika). The contours of this state were seen on a map of the United States in "Little Green Men".

A scene that was in the shooting script of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Paradise Lost" mentioned a spaceport in the Texan city of Brackettville, via Bracketville Spaceport. Jake Sisko and Joseph Sisko were to take a transport from Brackettville to Mars. [1]
