Texas was the real-life birthplace of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry as well as actors Brent Spiner and Michael Dorn.

Texas was named on a map of the United States (Die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika). The contours of this state were seen on a map of the United States in "Little Green Men".

A scene that was in the shooting script of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Paradise Lost" mentioned a spaceport in the Texan city of Brackettville, via Bracketville Spaceport. Jake Sisko and Joseph Sisko were to take a transport from Brackettville to Mars. [1]
