Ted Roberts wrote with Peter Allan Fields the story for the Star Trek: The Next Generation fourth season episode "Half a Life" in 1991.

He previously worked as executive story consultant on the television remake of Mission: Impossible (1988-1990).

Roberts is a music supervisor and music editor and worked between 1959 and 1995 on projects such as the television series The Untouchables (1959-1960), the science fiction film The Phantom Planet (1961), the television series The F.B.I. (1965-1967), The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries (1977-1978), Galactica 1980 (1980), V (1983), Matlock (1986-1987), In the Heat of the Night (1988), and Father Dowling Mysteries (1989-1990), and on over two dozen Perry Mason television movies (1995-1995).
