Ted Adams is the CEO and owner of IDW Publishing and one of the co-founders of the company in 1999.

He was the primary negotiator of film and video game deals for the company, including the 30 Days of Night franchise. He also participated in the negotiation of a number of licenses including CSI, 24, Angel, Transformers, and Silent Hill.

Before helping found IDW, Adams was a fairly prolific writer with WildStorm and Image Comics, working on a number of titles including the Spawn movie adaptation, Resident Evil, and The Crow. With IDW, he still occasionally contributes as a writer and editor while running the company.

Beginning in February 2016, his name began being added to IDW's Star Trek titles as the "Publisher". The first issue to include this was #54 of the ongoing series, "Reunion, Part 2".
