It can be theorized both that UN continued to exist and formed the basis of the United Earth Government established in the 2110s, or that the events of World War III may mean the organization was dissolved. This has never been addressed in Star Trek. -- Lsigler 14:12, 26 October 2004

Please see my comment at Talk:New United Nations about the two/three versions of the UN. —MJBurrage 03:16, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Star Trek relevanceEdit

This page needs to be edited and trimmed down so that it's more about Star Trek. This includes removing the images since I don't think the United Nations building or symbol was ever seen in Trek. -- EtaPiscium 10:26, 7 Nov 2004 (CET)

Category Edit

I agree that the UN is not a government(and therefore should not be in the Governments category) I wonder if it should be in either the Government category(about concepts of govt) or the Agencies category(since it was established by governments). --31dot 12:41, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

It would probably be most accurate to create a new category called "Intergovernmental Orgainzations." At the very least, you could put the United Nations, the Coalition of Planets (which seems to have been an alliance a la NATO, not a government or state), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and the Federation Alliance into such a category. -- Sci 12:43 11 FEB 2008 UTC
A good idea, though it should probably be proposed on the New Category Suggestion page first.--31dot 12:51, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
