RenameEdit

This must be a first, I created this article almost ten years ago and now want to rename it. :-)

Still, this specific term is never mentioned, so I propose to move this page simply to undersecretary with the text then being sth. like "Nilz Baris was the federation undersecretary in charge of agricultural affairs in the quadrant containing Sherman's Planet and K-7". You can infer that there are other undersecretary depts. I wonder if somewhere there's an okudagram with other undersecs listed. --LauraCC (talk) 18:21, February 11, 2016 (UTC)

I don't see how to defer this at all. Furthermore, where do you expect to see such an okudagram in a TOS episode? Kennelly (talk) 18:28, February 11, 2016 (UTC)

I meant if they have to say "Undersec in charge of", that implies the title undersec alone is not exclusive to agriculture. And I don't mean in this episode; I meant that maybe an okudagram in, say, a TNG episode calls Joe Schmo "Undersecretary in charge of weaponry". I've seen it happen before. --LauraCC (talk) 18:35, February 11, 2016 (UTC)
I don't have a problem with the title of this. It's as close as we can reasonably get to one for this article. We can use common sense in this situation. I suppose we could amend it slightly to "Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs" to better match the episode. 31dot (talk) 19:07, February 11, 2016 (UTC)
Strong Support for a rename. undersecretary clearly deserves an article, which would have essentially the same info. So what is even gained in insisting on this invented term (logical as it may be) -- Capricorn (talk) 21:24, February 11, 2016 (UTC)

Re:Common Sense. Sorry, many Earth governments in real life name their ministerial positions differently even though they have the same responsibilities, so I don't see why "common sense" tells us to use exactly this invented name. He could as well be undersecretary for Food and Agriculture. We simply don't know. Kennelly (talk) 15:06, February 12, 2016 (UTC)

Since the whole point of the common sence policy derives on, well, not on some guideline but on the subjective feeling that something is common sense, it seems worth pointing out that I also am not convinced that common sense justifies this leap. -- Capricorn (talk) 18:16, February 12, 2016 (UTC)
