It could be suggested that the USS Nova referred to in Star Trek Nemesis was a replacement for the prototype ship of the Nova-class.

There's a precedent: see USS Constellation. That ship is named as a Constellation-class starship because it existed at the same time the Constellation-class was introduced, even though its class was never seen or even implied on-screen. - Mitchz95 02:04, June 20, 2012 (UTC)
