The vessel may have named for the Federation starship USS Intrepid, which was destroyed in 2268.

It's just as likely both those ships are named for the Intrepid, so speculation. - Archduk3 18:04, August 24, 2011 (UTC)

Excelsior? Edit

What's the source for this being an Excelsior-class? - Mitchz95 (talk) 13:35, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

Would it be the ship's logs, which were seen in "Sins of the Father"? 31dot (talk) 23:58, July 31, 2014 (UTC)
The Starfleet Mission Archives, from "Sins of the Father", don't mention the class of the ship. Sergey Rozhenko says in "Family", I used to be a warp field specialist on the old Excelsior class.Throwback (talk) 01:53, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
That makes more sense, but does that mean that this ship was Excelsior class? He could have served on more than one ship. 31dot (talk) 11:32, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

I just skimmed over the script[1] for "Family". While Sergey definitely served aboard the Intrepid, and was definitely a specialist on an Excelsior, the references were in two different scenes (7 and 14, respectively) and so I think it's a stretch to definitively connect them. I think the Excelsior reference on this page should be moved to the appendices, and the Intrepid moved to the "uncertain" list on the Excelsior page. - Mitchz95 (talk) 13:40, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

I would agree with that. 31dot (talk) 16:09, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
