In DS9 "Way of the Warrior" and "Call to Arms", the torpedo launchers also seem to be phaser arrays, because they fire both photon torpedoes and phasers. Also the three prominent 'defense sails' are never seen to fire any weapons at all, while numerous pop-up weapon turrets do. :Indeed. but you are mistaken, in both eps the weapon sail towers fire torpedoes and phasers. --[[User:Pseudohuman|Pseudohuman]] ([[User talk:Pseudohuman|talk]]) 20:33, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

Volley count

It has been noted that the Galaxy class ship can fire 10 torpedoes from it single forward torpedo tube.

The Enterprise NCC 1701-E has 8 forward launchers, and six aft launchers. Since the Sovereign Class ship has integrated all of the latest technology, this would imply that the Enterprise NCC1701-E could fire an 80 torpedo spread in one volley. Using Quantum Torpedoes, this one ship could literally destroy an entire star system in one shot.

I think this needs some additional technical clarification. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Shaggrat (talkcontribs).

Where are you getting this information? The first comment is unsourced, the second is inaccurate (see Template:ShipClass sidebar: 4 forward torpedo launchers, 6 aft torpedo launchers) and finally, the capabilities you suggest were far from true during its battle with the Scimitar, or for that matter the Borg cube, when it fired all of a handful of shots at the cube... --Alan 20:08, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Galaxy-class has canonically fired only 5 torpedoes simultaneously. No canonical indication, any other type of starship has similar capability. 10 torpedoes is a non-canon figure given in the TNGTM. Also no indication photon torpedoes or quantum torpedoes can destroy planets. gravimetric torpedoes have been linked to this capability. --Pseudohuman 21:07, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
