Is Torothan really the name of the species and Toroth the name of the planet? In the german version Zobral talks about the "clan of the Torothans", the dominating group on the planet. The planet and the species keep unnamed in the german translation, the torothans are only one group on the planet, and Zobral talks about them using the term "them", which indicates, that he is no torothan.--Bravomike 16:16, 17 December 2006 (UTC) (see also: talk:Toroth)
- could anybody answer, please?--Bravomike 21:18, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed you are correct. The Torothans were specifically referred to as a "clan", not a species. I will attempt to correct the page, but I haven't seen the episode in a while, so I may just end up slapping a pna on it. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! :) --From Andoria with Love 04:05, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
"Torothan Clan"? Edit
I suggest we move this page to "Torothan Clan". In the script, those words are capitalized that way, suggesting "Clan" is part of the group's name. It might also help to clear up any confusion by people who assume "Torothan" is the name of the species. --Defiant (talk) 06:47, October 23, 2015 (UTC)
- Well (going by a mere transcript), "Torothan" is used a lot more, but if "Torothan Clan" is capitalised then I guess we have to take that as the official, formal name. As long as its made clear in the text that they may also be known as just Torothans, Support.
I think "Torothan" is not only used more in the episode but is also easier for linking, so decided against a page move. I hope the solution I've come up with will be acceptable to yourself and others. --Defiant (talk) 07:12, October 24, 2015 (UTC)
