Reference fixEdit

Changed reference to "international affairs" to "intergalactic affairs" - CanuckGod

"Intergalactic" is defined as "being or occurring between galaxies." "Interstellar" would be more appropriate as the term was used before in ST6:TUC to describe law (and thus politics).Wangry

Retcon Edit

What examples of contact are there, between the Federation and the Romulans, between 2311 and 2363? Could they be added to the note in the article? The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

that would make a damn fine reference list. i wondered the same thing when i read the background note. The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).
One I can think of is the Enterprise-C's defense of Nelvana III against attack by the Romualns on the Klingons 22 years before "Yesterday's Enterprise". Though this may not be counted as official contact since the Enterprise-C crew were killed or captured by the Romulans, and therefore no information about them made it back to Starfleet HQ. The exact length of time of the Romulan isolation has been retconned several times during the production of TNG and later series and movies. In "The Neutral Zone", Data stated it was 53 years, seven months and eighteen days since the last official contact between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire. Others have postulated that the isolation itself has not been retconned, but that contacts with the Romulans known to have occurred between 2311 and 2364 are the result of contacts with non-governmental Romulan agencies, unofficial contacts that were not recorded in the historic record, or agencies gone rogue.
Maybe keep the first line but the rest is speculative... though I don't see the first line as necessary either. — Morder (talk) 03:47, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
