No reason to assume there are two individuals with the same name. Starfleet personnel are not banned from taking trips on commercial transports as far as I know. Merged article can be renamed to "Tim Roller (24th century)" if it appears that he may have been a civilian in the late 2320s and worked for Strfleet R&D in the early to mid 2370s. But should be merged me thinks. --Pseudohuman (talk) 16:58, January 27, 2015 (UTC)

There is a real world reason for assuming that there are more than one individual who share the same name. This has been an issue when it comes to airport security. There is no canonical connection between the two individuals, other than by name. Here is a page from wikipedia. It shows prominent individuals who were named David Smith. I am also opposing a merge. There are countless individuals named after members of the production staff. And we don't know for sure if these persons are the same. I am removing the merge template as there were no further comments in the last five weeks. Tom (talk) 21:29, March 7, 2015 (UTC)
