From Talk:Swedish language Edit

Removed Edit

The Swedish word "Borg" means "castle" in English.

Irrelevant real-world info unless it can be cited. -- 31dot 01:59, March 16, 2010 (UTC)

It's back in a bgnote. I removed the tennis player reference - the note is useful in confirming the word Borg's Swedish provenance. Adding individuals with the name Borg is (fattening) gravy. -- LauraCC (talk) 21:41, June 6, 2016 (UTC)
And removed again, uncited.
This was a joke, referring to Björn Borg, a famous Swedish tennis player.

Merge Edit

I think the existence of this article is too much of a stretch. Seeing that Lily Sloane, after actually encountering the Borg, said "definitely not Swedish" she was then not referring to the language, but to the Swedish people. And calling a name Swedish IMO also doesn't refer to the language;when I talk about a name sounding "Austrian" I certainly don't talk about a non-existent "Austrian language", but Austrian culture/customs/conventions etc. The info contained here is already found at Sweden, so this article is unncessary. Add to that the fact that there's only one -- LauraCC (talk) 16:26, April 11, 2016 (UTC)
Oppose - The Austrian reference is a red herring, since there is no ambiguity in that word. With "Swedish" it could be either. Borg is a Swedish surname, and a Swedish language word. If it is either of these it is technically Swedish language. - RayBell (talk) 16:56, April 11, 2016 (UTC)
Merged as there is no real reference to the language. Anything else would be speculation. Tom (talk) 18:26, June 30, 2016 (UTC)
