I'm looking for a shot from about 13:04-06 of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the view facing the Starfleet Headquarters structures on the Presidio and the southern anchorage of the Golden Gate Bridge. POV as if looking directly south from Marin County. All other views place Starfleet Headquarters in southern Marin County at the other end of the bridge, this seems to me unique in placing (at least part of it) in San Francisco proper. - You think of this? That's the air tram station at the right, not SFH. --Porthos 22:20, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- The shot that directly follows the one you provided shows a much larger complex in detail. Since Admiral Kirk is shown arriving, rather than departing, for a meeting with Nogura, it strongly suggests Starfleet Headquarters occupies the Presidio as well as land north of the Golden Gate, and the air tram station is part of a larger facility. I don't have the episode handy, but I believe Janeway supports this by mentioning the Presidio in reference to Starfleet Headquarters and Starfleet Academy in VOY: "Endgame". Considering the consistent location referrals to San Francisco, it makes sense that at least a portion of Starfleet Headquarters is adjacent to the city, as well as across the water in Marin County. - The air tram station clearly shows a starfleet emblem in several places, as well as starfleet uniforms walking around. Its a starfleet facility. Federation 10:46, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
This and this seem to be two different ends of the Golden Gate Bridge, and the complex on the first picture is called air tram station only by the script. So the real headquarter might be at the northern end? --Memory 23:31, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
- Looking at the image, the one on the center right is definitely a Miranda-class, with the one on the far right possibly an Excelsior-class. Definitely one of the models on the left side is a Constitution-class, but I am unsure of the other. - Enzo Aquarius 15:45, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Other Starfleet Headquarters locationsEdit
In the Star Fleet Technical Manual describes Starfleet as being a large space platform with docking bays big enough to accomodate several starships, instead of a complex in San Francisco.
Starfleet Headquarters in other mediaEdit
i could swear the starfleet headquarters set was used as a laboratory in the movie Rising Sun. Has anyone else seen it used in any other Viacom movies?
