I've long been amused by the fact that, although he claims Canadian descent, he pronounces the rank "lootenant" according to the American fashion, and not "leftenant" as we Canadians do.

Lavelle claimed his grandfather was from Canada, not that he himself was from Canada. -- SmokeDetector47| TALK 02:20, 3 Jan 2006 (UTC)
Even if he was Canadian, I am British and I say 'lootenant' as opposed to the commonly used 'leftenant', simply because it is spelled 'lieu' and therefore, I think, should be pronounced 'loo'. -- TrekFan Talk 14:28, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Order of Things Edit

Canadians and the British have always used American, or French Titles when enlisted under their command, and as this fleet has a specific order to thing, we hope earths history wouldnt mess it up. -<unsigned>

I know this is old, but yeah...what? lol And as for Canadians and British "using American" titles, may I remind you it's the other way around, since most of American ranks and titles come from the British forces during the time of the British Empire. -- TrekFan Talk 16:01, January 21, 2011 (UTC)
They originate with, but they are still unique and different. -- sulfur 16:11, January 21, 2011 (UTC)
