I think it would be interesting to note in the article that, as a Chinese-American actress [see ], she played a Japanese character. To most americans the disctinction is insignificant, but in Asia this is not the case. --Stux 18:58, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
No mention of her being offered a regular spot in DS9?. I just found that out in IMDB and was really shocked, didn't have any idea. Hard to think what they would have done with their character, given what little they did with the almost 20 episodes se appeared in. --22.214.171.124 23:32, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
- I've never heard that before. Keep in mind IMDB is not always the most accurate source, but if there is other evidence to suggest that, we should include it.--31dot 00:25, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
- IMDB (and also TV.com) mention this quote from her, but no source: "When they offered me the role as a regular on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993), I was actually pregnant with my first child and I was also getting ready to do The Joy Luck Club (1993). So, I had to say no to the producers at that point. I wanted to be able to spend time with my husband and with my first child right after he was born. And I did. I really think it worked out well for everyone". I know IMDB is not exactly trustworthy, but this looks really concrete to me, and something that would have been corrected if it was wrong, since we're talking 1993 here. --126.96.36.199 21:34, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, I remember Chao mentioning it when she was on stage at the 2005 Vegas convention. --Delta2373 21:49, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
