Why was the external link to the Wikipedia article reverted? --From Andoria with Love 03:49, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
In "Plato's stepchildren" they learn how to artificially give people psychokinetic powers, and yet this piece of info is neatly forgotten, I wonder why.--Fulltwistnow 22:46, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Um. Just a thought, but I always assumed that the Vulcan priestesses were not using telekinesis, but had simply put Spock's body on an anti-grav and were putting their hands on top of his body for some ceremonial reason or other. -- Sci 07:27 20 AUG 2006 UTC
- Yeah, that is possible, although Leonard Nimoy said that Spock's body was intended to be floating on air to add to the Vulcan mysticism and what not. There was even a storyboard image showing the crew's surprise. But the anti-grav certainly is a possibility, and since neither were established in canon, both are fair speculatory game. --From Andoria with Love 07:34, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Except that if you look at that cap really close, you can still see the carrying bars of the litter Kirk and Co. used to carry him off the BoP. What I'd like to do (if I had a copy of ST III handy, which unfortunately I don't is to get a couple of big, hi-res caps off it to check for sure...Capt Christopher Donovan 09:43, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I think this might be inaccurateEdit
Isn't telekinesis simply the ability to psychokinetically move objects? What I'm trying to say is, telekinesis is a type of psychokinesis, but not an alternate name for it. A psychokinetic can manipulate things with their mind. Time, space, matter and a variety of other things, depending on the type of psychokinetic. But a telekinetic is limited to matter alone. And just movement. In other words they can't alter the atomic structure of matter, they can only move it...in other words they could make a cup or a bowl of potato chips fly into the air and hover there, but they can't rearange the molecules so that it becomes a different shape or object.
I think telekinesis should have its' own page. As it is only one type of psychokinesis.
