Workforce secruityEdit

Are the security personnel/officers in "Workforce" and "Workforce, Part II" from VOY considered members of the police, some military force, or just rent-a-cops for a corporation (the power plant)? - Intricated 01:19, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)

"Constable" Odo Edit

This article's written as if "Constable" was Odo's real title - but in "Move Along Home", Odo objects to the Starfleet security officer calling him that ("I'm not 'constable', I'm Chief of Security!") - SanityOrMadness 18:10, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Distinct from military Edit

The article says that, "by definition, the police are distinct from the military."

This may be true in many countries, such as the USA (wherein members of the military have no police powers), but some countries have a gendarme, which, as I understand it, are kind of a combo. Other countries with different forms of government, such as autocracies, use their militaries arbitrarily and generally give them the power to arrest, detain, etc.

Now that's real-world info (AFAIK). The question, though, is what's true from Trek's perspective? I'm not sure if even the first line (quote) that caused me to question whether this is "true" based on Trek sources. Cepstrum (talk) 00:18, March 16, 2011 (UTC)

I would say this line should be removed as per your comments above and simply because IIRC it hasn't been mentioned either way in Star Trek. --| TrekFan Open a channel 00:47, March 16, 2011 (UTC)
I agree, as far as I know such a claim was not made. As you say the police in some nations is part of the military(such as France's gendarmerie). --31dot 01:24, March 16, 2011 (UTC)

police officer 2240s from star trek 2009 Edit

The police officer that pulls over young Kirk in the new star trek, is there any indication what he is, whether Human or alien or some kind of cyborg/robot, even behind the scenes information? i put this question here because "police" on the star trek film page directs here. thanks.
