According to the entry for Sarek, he first married a Vulcan princess, the mother of Sybok. Amanda was therefore his second wife and Perrin his third.
- Picard specifically says, "Like his first wife, this one is Human" (not in those words); it proves that this Princess was never married to him. In fact, according to Spock, Sybok lived with his mother until she died, and then Sybok moved in with Sarek, suggesting no marriage. --TOSrules 04:18, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
I changed it so that, now Perrin is Sareks last wife not third. after all, we do not know if he had 2, 3, or 4 wives. With the life span of Vulcans this is possible. --TOSrules 20:35, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- It could be that the Vulcan princess was betrothed to Sarek at a young age and somehow in their relationship they had Sybok before it was ended; much like Spock ended his with T'Pring. --Alan del Beccio 20:40, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
Nice theory, but that is all there is to it, even if one could prove the Princess was Sarek's wife, as other evidenced says otherwise, we don't have the information to clearly say how many Wives Sarek had before marring Perrin. There could be one more between Amanda and Perrin, we just don't know. Defiant from DS9 has this same problem, we don't really know if there was another Defiant between TOS and DS9, but since I don't like the show, I will not do that edit. --TOSrules 20:53, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm fully aware that "that is all there is to it", as I attempted to convey by starting the sentence off with "It could be...". Other than that, I was really only participating in the part of the conversation that involved the princess, as the whole betrothal thing in Vulcan culture hasn't appeared (to my knowledge) in any of the attempted explainations for their relationship. --Alan del Beccio 20:58, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- I prefer not to use theories to explain things with such little data. I have my own, but it has no value to this site, or my own site. I believe that they were stranded on a planet during Sarek's Pon Farr, and he had no choice but to mate or die. It is far fetched, but till something is said in regard to this it is best left un-addressed, except the note that the mating did not result in Marriage on the Sarek page. --TOSrules 21:11, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
