Removed note Edit

I have removed the following:

The crew of Deep Space Nine also ran a holographic program uninterrupted (the Vic Fontaine program), but it is not known if this problem ever befell them.

The Vic Fontaine program was self aware and knew it was a hologram, or "light bulb", and therefore would not have had the possibility of this type of malfunction. --OuroborosCobra talk 22:37, 7 September 2007 (UTC)i

I wasn't referring to the Vic Fontaine character, I was referring to the rest of the program, which presumably did not have the knowledge that Vic did. Nevertheless, perhaps such a note does belong here. 31dot 22:42, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Perceptual filter technology also occurs in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series as the "Somebody Else's Problem field", as well as in Doctor Who as the "perception filter". In both cases, it makes real people oblivious, as opposed to just holograms, as the objects being concealed by the fields cannot be registered by anything looking at them.

Removed as there is no Star Trek connection here- this just documents how this plot element is used in other shows.--31dot 21:37, July 19, 2011 (UTC)
