Merging Edit

This is a parable from Matthew 13:45-46 and it's already listed on Bible. Does it really need its own separate page? --LauraCC (talk) 15:38, October 16, 2015 (UTC)

The article framed the pearl of great price as a parable told by Jesus. But that's not how it was mentioned, it was mentioned as the actual object rather then as a parable with that name (the origins of the tale were not even mentioned, no doubt intentionally in line with Roddenberry's outlook). I think the article should be rewritten - and I'll do so, and have even taken the liberty to copy that verse number you gave to the article - but since the reference is to an object, not a chapter of a book, I think it ought to stay. -- Capricorn (talk) 06:24, October 23, 2015 (UTC)

I never thought of it as an item. There are other references to pearls in "The Most Toys". So should it be moved to a new page called "pearl" or merely mentioned there? --LauraCC (talk) 14:42, October 23, 2015 (UTC)

Since this is a specific artifact, I think it can stay (much like Knife of Kirom isn't merged into just knife for example). That's not to say that there can't be a page on just "pearl" as a general subject and that it can't reference the Pearl of Great Price of course. -- Capricorn (talk) 05:41, October 24, 2015 (UTC)
Following the rewrite I removed the merge template. Tom (talk) 00:34, October 25, 2015 (UTC)
