How often was the operations manager referred to on-screen as ops? I don't recall hearing it except once or twice, whereas almost every episode of DS9 contains some sort of reference to Ops. Weyoun 04:31, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- Before this, if you had asked me something about "ops," I would have described the ops station on the USS Enterprise-D or USS Voyager. I had no idea that the "ops" on DS9 wasn't the same thing (I guess I didn't really think about it). You are obviously far more familiar with DS9 than any of the other series. Sure, maybe the word "ops" was used more often in reference to the DS9 thing, but the ops station and ops manager were on more episodes of Trek. It should stay as a disambiguation, not a redirect. -Platypus Man | Talk 05:04, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I wish I had a camera. This couldn't be any better! One person thinks one thing, coming from one perspective, while another person thinks otherwise, coming from yet another perspective. Seeing that the two perspectives here are causing a bit of confusion-- what we have here is perfect example why "ops" is (or should be) a disambiguation page. :) --Alan del Beccio 05:09, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Actually, I agree with you both... I even made a point of bringing this example up when someone suggested deleting disambig pages with only two meanings. I only did the redirect thing out of laziness :-P And I'm actually more familiar with TNG than DS9, but I re-discovered DS9 lately (never used to pay attention to it, like most Trek fans) and haven't seen TNG for ages. Anyway no harm done - everything's fixed and disambiguous now. Weyoun 05:12, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks! Well done. --Alan del Beccio
