Merge Edit

If USS Saladin redirects to Saladin-class, and the Saladin's reg number is NCC-500, shouldn't NCC-500 be merged with Saladin-class? Info found here can also be found at the Saladin-class article. ---- Willie LLAP 17:44, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

The question is, was NCC-500 seen? Was it on a background display or audio that USS Saladin was not? If it was, no merge, if it wasn't, merge. --OuroborosCobra talk 18:08, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Saladin class

Essentially it boils down to this: the image to the right depicts the NCC-500, at least according to the legible version of the text found in the valid resource from which the image came. The "fair game" text appearing in this image, taken from page T0:01:04:12 of the Star Trek Star Fleet Technical Manual, includes the following information:
  • Title: Class I Destroyer (portion of)
  • Subtitle: Saladin class starships (portion of)
The labels to the image:
  • Starboard aft: Phaser bank p/s
  • Starboard above nacelle: Impulse power
  • Port below nacelle: Space/warp propulsion unit
  • Port aft: Primary hull
And across the saucer: NCC-500
NCC-500, according to that reference = USS Saladin. Based on the validity of this, the above mentioned information (which is low-key and unobtrusive to the overall content of this site, mind you) should be considered on par in terms of validity. Since the name of the ship did not appear on the image (nor even the page from which the image was taken), at the very least USS Saladin should redirect here, as a non-canon redirect. --Alan 22:31, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

In that case, I will withdraw the merge request. Thanks, Alan. ---- Willie LLAP 14:30, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
