What does Jean-Luc say when on the bridge and he wants....Edit

I am trying to write an article and in it I talk about Jean Luc. If he is talking to someone on the viewscreen and then wants to talk to the crew without them knowing what does he say? "Screen down?" "off communications?"

thank you in advance. – 02:12, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

If I remember correctly, when ever he has said something, it has always been "Mute" or "Mute audio". However, more often than not, he turns his back to the screen and gives a "cut" motion at his throat to Tasha or Worf. He talks with the crew and then usually nods to Tasha or Worf again to get them to open up the channel again. Hope that helps. ----Willie 04:55, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Willie. "Mute audio" or "Computer, mute audio" was his favourite refrain, as it was Janeway's too. One could argue that a consistent and exact Federation-wide command of this nature would be necessary when communicating with central computers, as well as in the formal atmosphere of a ships bridge. Or is that taking things a wee bit too far?! The preceding unsigned comment was added by Teestee (talk).
Usually it was Worf who would say mute in response to Picard's throat motion, as Willie said. In "Rascals" he did said "Computer, delete audio", but this was due to annoyance, not because he didn't want people to hear him.--31dot 13:37, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
